Wildwood has been a part of my family for as long as I can remember. In the past I have attended productions with my grandmother, with my parents and with my children. I’ve known for a long time that Wildwood was something special and, after volunteering at Lanterns, decided I wanted to give back more to the park and our community by taking a more active role at the Park.
I am looking forward to expanding and improving the infrastructure of the park to the benefit of all. Updates to the interior of the theater are going to really add a wow factor for those attending and hosting productions and events indoors. I am particularly excited about our plans to add more lighting to the grounds, the addition of a dock on to swan lake and, hopefully soon, larger paved parking lots. All of which will really add to the accessibility and enjoyment of the park for all.
The thing that excites me the most for Wildwood’s future is that, after years of hard work by everyone involved, we are really becoming a beloved daily natural resource for our community, not just an occasional venue for productions or the place where the Lanterns festival is held each year. Every day more families are utilizing the park, classes of all kinds are being held, events are being hosted. The park is alive again and I love the electric energy that one feels driving in and walking around. It’s good stuff.
